Don't try to shoot the moon my son,
your life has only just begun.
You're always seem to be on the move,
or at times, on the run.
Slow down your pace,
and take the time to see
what your decisions are doing to you
and where they might lead.
Your carefree years of fun and games
are in the past and gone
Think, my son, of the days ahead
and what your decisions have done
What have you done
with your life?
Where lie your future needs?
Surely not in the days gone by
in the drugs or in
the booze.
Not in the shallow friends you've
made
who set you up to lose.
Your life in the
past has never worked.
Your future is so
unclear.
It's all a jumble of dos and don'ts,
that envelops you in fear.
You're the one,
the
only one,
your life is in your hands
Make the
decisions that are right for you
and proudly you
will stand
The future is up to you my son,
It's
time to be a man.
As you lay in that bed at
night
locked in that tiny cell,
re-live the
memories of your past
and learn your lessons
well.
Draw deep from those lessons,
all the
strength you'll surely need;
to change the path of
yesteryear,
and choose the road marked free!
